Are demos safe? Can demos increase student understanding? Duke University lecture demonstrator Ken Lyle illustrates the use of demonstrations productively in the chemistry classroom.  Ken shares strategies for overcoming common obstacles to using demos in the classroom and provides examples of demos that can be incorporated seamlessly into existing curricula.
